Worship

The Lord always shows up in worship, His presence is the purpose of why we gather together. We know, though, that when we offer something to the Lord, He never allows us to leave empty handed. In worship we experience a divine exchange. More than once this exchange He has chosen to make has been healing.

The song, “The More I Seek You” was written by Zach Neese back in the late 90’s, and the very first recording of that song happened to be on our School of Worship Album at CFNI in 2002. I was assigned to be the producer and engineer, and Zach was the song writer, so we collaborated together and recorded that song. I was so sick the night we recorded the vocals. I had a person in mind to sing it that was unavailable and the deadline was creeping up on us. We had already recorded the instruments in a key suitable for a female voice and so we began to “discuss” who should sing it. He said, “You sing it.” I shot back, “I’ve never recorded myself singing before and I am sick.” To which he replied, “You go in there, and try it. I will let you know if it sounds too bad and we can see if another girl can do it tomorrow.” So, in the recording booth I went. Between takes, I just hacked up and spit in a trash can, blew my nose, and worshipped on. He decided it was passable, so we kept that recording and submitted it that week. It was the first song on the album, and it was the only song that landed on the radio. Now for the fun part!

Months later we got a call from a woman who had been listening to the song on repeat. She was a cancer patient and had been battling in the hospital. The Holy Spirit visited her and touched her while listening to that song, and God healed her completely! CANCER FREE! He exchanged my offering of worship given at a time when I was afflicted with sickness, and chose to heal a woman I’d never met, nor laid hands on, just because He is God and He can do whatever He wants! (You can listen to The More I Seek You below)

Here at LifeWay Church, we believe in the power of God to heal the sick, restore the soul, and mend the brokenhearted. God often manifests Himself in these ways while we worship. When you join us to worship the Lord, come expecting to pour out your worship at His feet, and come expecting to not leave empty handed. He wants to meet you where you are and bring His Divine exchange into your life, too.

Much love,

Pastor Kirsten
